Updates Hub

This hub tracks the public development arc of Tenebris: Terra Incognita—a Steam PC single-player tactical RPG by Phantasmica Studios. Early Access opened on September 30, 2024. Version 1.0 shipped on September 14, 2026 with a much larger hero roster, new biome threats, and endgame bosses. Use these pages to learn what changed if you are returning from an EA break or deciding whether to restart after a milestone wipe warning.

  • Version 1.0 — 23 heroes, expanded story missions, Necronoms, world bosses, and ten new subclasses.
  • Patch History — EA timeline from launch through Heavyweight 0.5 and the content ladder into 1.0.

Official announcements always live on the Steam news hub. This wiki summarizes player-facing beats; it is not a legal changelog. For store links and social channels, see Official Links.

Why update literacy matters in Tenebris

Talent trees were revised multiple times during Early Access. Armor ignore, burn stacks, healer cleanses, and lockpicking rules have all moved. A guide written in late 2024 can be wrong about Sancto, Ignifer, or Librator in 2026. Before you scrap a build, check whether a patch—not your play—broke the old synergy.

Version 1.0 also raised the ceiling: more heroes, more bosses (17 total called out on the store page), denser late biomes, and specialized subclasses meant to keep hour forty fresh. Squad advice on the Tier List Hub and Best Squads assumes you know which era of the game you are playing.

How to use this hub after a patch

  1. Read the Steam post for exact bullet points.
  2. Skim our Version 1.0 or Patch History summary for context.
  3. Revisit Career System if unlock rules or resets are mentioned.
  4. Re-check Hero Tier List priorities if damage or sustain numbers moved.
  5. Adjust difficulty habits with Difficulty Tips when economy systems change.

Save warnings and expectations

Major milestones can invalidate old saves when systems move too far. Studios sometimes add animation speed or other QoL to soften replays. Always read the pinned Steam note before assuming cloud saves will bridge an EA-to-1.0 gap. Keep personal backups when the developers warn about wipes.

What we cover vs what we skip

We cover player-facing content: heroes, bosses, biomes, difficulty, and progression systems. We skip rumor threads, datamine speculation, and unpaid roadmap promises until they ship. If Discord hype disagrees with Steam text, Steam wins for this hub.

New commanders still need Getting Started more than patch archaeology. Veterans who slept through EA should start with Version 1.0, then rebuild careers using Basic Classes as a refresher.

Stay patched, stay skeptical of outdated talent screenshots, and treat every major update as a chance to rebuild one squad properly instead of forcing muscle memory forever.
